The institutional school

Two things that some people might think are very comparable, a mental institution and a school. No I am kidding, but one can compare the two. The mental institution in Cuckoo's nest can be compared to our school because first of some kids hate authority figures. The McMurphy's at our school can be clearly pointed out because they clearly hate the teacher and authority figures. They resent any control over themselves and do not listen. They make the class get distracted and try and be as outrageous as possible without getting in trouble.
The second comparison is the ways to keep the students/patients under control. First are the teachers who can give you a bad grade then, they can give you detention similar to how the big nurse could give pills or shots then you could get suspended from school or get sent up to the misbehaver center in the institution. then you can get expelled which compares to lobotomy or shock therapy in the book. Another comparison is more homework to the louder music. Showing that the school has similar control over its students as an institution to its patients.
The third comparison is Chief to people who do not try and get bad grades. The comparison can be made that Chief pretends to be deaf and cant talk and some kids pretend to be dumb when they are just lazy and do not try. And just aas McMurphy knows that Chief is faking there are people know that the kids do not at all try there hardest, and people know they could do better. there are also the kids that are actually dumb which can compare to the patients that actually have disabilities.

Complexity of the brain

The human brain is, in my opinion the least understood part of the body. The truth is I do not think other parts of the body are misunderstood, and the brain seems to be very, very difficult to understand. The brain seems to be the most complex thing in the world and therefore least understood. The brain can do so many things and people will never fully understand how and why the brain chooses what it does. No one will ever fully understand how the brain decides what is right or wrong and what is bad and good. No one will understand how the brain chooses to be sad or happy, or how it chooses to be hyper or depressed, why chemicals react the way they do. No one will understand how the brain chooses to believe or not believe.
Medicine has advanced greatly over the years and will continue to advance, the newest technology is a skin cell gun that helps heel burs by placing skin cells on the damaged skin. The have made a serious burn heel in a few days rather than weeks. This new technology shows how medicine advances. With all the advancements in medicine modern medicine can pretty much fix any thing except for complications in the brain. The brain is the least understood part of the body and is much less understood by modern medicine than other parts of the human body. There have been solutions to some small problems in the brain yet, complex problems in the brain seem to be impossible to fix. The solutions set for parts of the body have solved many problems yet there seem to be little to no solutions to problems in the brain.
